With the belief that everyone should have access to beautiful design, Mills inspires people worldwide through her radio shows, blog, internet program and published articles.

After designing and staging sets for television, Karen Mills turned her designer’s eye to private homes where she tells the story of her clients through style and furnishings. With a specialty in creating harmonious and timeless designs that flow naturally with the architecture, Mills interiors draw you into a place of luxurious comfort where you can just sit back and relax.

Mills’ creative approach to design, widely covered in the media, led to a co-production deal in 2005 with Entercom Broadcasting Network to host a now nationally recognized design and lifestyle show called Living Large (airs locally on News Radio 980 KMBZ Sundays at 10am and Classical 1660 KXTR Saturdays at 10:30am) which features celebrity designer and network TV personality guests who share the latest design trends and ideas every week for celebrating the good life.   

When Mills isn’t designing interiors or on air, she spends her spare time speaking at home shows, writing for national and local magazines, designing home décor products or helping the community.   And her commitment to the communities where she designs is clear whether its youth programs like Team Impact (anti drug/anti alcohol) which she got endorsed by the governor, the sustainability taskforce and chamber of commerce or the more artistic endeavors like design chair for the Symphony Designers Showhouse. 
Karen Mills’ design firm, Interiors by Design Inc., was nominated in 2009, 2008 and 2007 for Small Business of the Year and Mills was also the first designer locally to be invited to the exclusive “Kohler Experience” at the Kohler Design Center.

Karen graduated from the University of Kansas where she studied Interior Design and Radio/Television/Film.
